Science Fair projects are going really well!
Good luck to the three students (Katie, Ciara and Izabelle) who will be competing at the West Coast Cross Country in Kumara on Wednesday! HEART FOCUS: TIMS: IGNORE – Take a deep breath; Can I ignore this? School Grounds: Include others. We are working hard to complete Science Fair projects in class. Please ask students how you can support them!
HEART Weekly Focus... TIMS: TALK – Have I listened?; Can I say, “stop that, I don’t like it!” School Grounds: Help others. Welcome back for the second term of 2021.
I hope that students managed to bring home a class newsletter last week. I was extremely impressed with students effort and completion during the school cross country on Monday. Selected students are heading to Reefton on Monday for the Buller event. Just a reminder that Monday (17 May) is a Teacher Only Day. However, students will still be heading to Reefton for the Buller Cross Country! I am writing this on 25.3.21 (4.00pm) and picking that between now and Monday morning (start of week 9) that my wife, Stacey, has had our third child. If this is the case, then Miss Ward will be in Room 4 for the week. I have heard that the Year 7 students had a great three days in Hokitika on camp. Thanks to Miss Halsall and Mrs Fairweather! Well done to the swimmers who competed at the West Coast Swimming Championships on Wednesday. Remember Week 9 is a short week! Friday is Good Friday! HEART Weekly Focus: TIMS: SEEK HELP – Stay calm. All Settings: Take care of your environment. Our Year 7 students will be heading to Hokitika for camp on Monday - Wednesday! Have a blast with Miss Halsall and Mrs Fairweather.
The Year 8 students will be with me (Mr A) for these couple of days. On Wednesday, selected students will be participating in the West Coast Swimming Sports at the PERC. HEART Weekly Focus: TIMS: MOVE AWAY – Relax and remain calm. All Settings: Be tolerant of others. Have a great weekend! I'm sure all the Year 8's have had a restful weekend!
This week we will have a class based week! Well that's the plan. HEART Weekly focus: TIMS: MOVE AWAY – Find a safe place. All Settings: Use polite and appropriate language. The YEAR 8s are Wellington bound!!! Very exciting. Get a good sleep on Saturday night.
The Year 7s will be well looked after - Miss Ward is teaching this crew! HEART Focus: TIMS: MOVE AWAY – Stop engaging; Move away. All Settings: Do your best. We are working a million miles an hour to get organised for Year 8 Wellington Camp - we only have 5 school days to go! Buller Athletics were supposed to be on Monday but have been postponed! They will hopefully go ahead on Wednesday. HEART Weekly Focus: TIMS: IGNORE – Choose another activity; Join a different group of people. All Settings: Take ownership of your learning. What a relief it was that we were back in Alert Level 1 so promptly!
Monday: Selected swimmers will be at the PERC for the Buller District Swimming Sports. Children who are selected for the Buller District Athletics will receive a notice on Monday. This will be held next Monday (1 March) in Reefton. HEART Weekly Focus: TIMS: IGNORE – Take a deep breath; Can I ignore this? All Settings: Be positive. |
